Reunited and it feels so gooood...

My Zeeta cat. :) Isn't it cute how she curls in her paws like that? Such big mitts...6 toes on each paw.

Dwayne and I celebrated our 5th anniversary this evening at The Keg. The big day isn't until December 3rd, but we won't be together then...he'll be out on the road and I'll be at home enjoying all the Christmas season has to offer. My husband is a bit of a Scrooge/Grinch when it comes to Christmas, so it's better for me to enjoy it here at home.

The Keg gave us a free dessert to share for our anniversary...their Billy Miner's pie...very good. :)

As always, the whole meal was fantastic. Best dead cow around! We love our Sudbury Keg. Been to other Kegs, but for some reason, Sudbury has the best meat. Don't know where they get their dead cow from, but it's amazing.

My daughter got 106% on her Physics test. Isn't that wonderful? The extra 6% was for a bonus question. Just wanted to share that. :)

Well, this is going to be my last post until the New Year. Hope you all enjoyed the past 6 weeks with me. I look forward to seeing quite a number of you over the holidays.

Be sure to check in with me again January 1st. I'll be back in the truck, ready to roll!

And if you're ever feeling blue, just call up my blog. The bee will always be there to cheer you up. I like my bee. Don't you?

An early Merry Christmas to everyone and a very Happy New Year!!

This is "B" signing off.... ;)

P.S. My husband has a blog, if you find you're having blog withdrawal. He hasn't posted much lately...basically because I took over his iPhone while in the truck (heehee). But I'm sure he'll post more now that I won't be with him for the next several weeks. Here it is...

Crossing into Oh Canada...

I'm home ... YAY!
I had mom's pasta for dinner ... YAY!
I hugged my daughter ... DOUBLE YAY!
I cuddled my cat ... YAY!

Good to be back. :) Except that I'm certain I'll be coming down with the cold that's been making it's way through the house. First my daughter, then my dad and now my mom's got it. Any bets I'll be next?

I tell ya, it sure is strange going from a big rig into a car. Felt soooo low to the ground. It's also strange to be watching television again. Can't say I really missed it being out on the road. I'm sure it will also feel strange to sleep in an actual bed tonight. Although I do confess that I sleep like a rock in that truck, for whatever reason.

Tonight's pictures were taken at a huge store called Cabela's. They specialize in hunting, fishing, camping and other outdoor activities. We went to one in Pennsylvania. We were there on a Saturday. The place sure was buzzing with people. Not only do they sell all sorts of equipment and clothing, including handguns and rifles, but they also have an indoor restaurant on the second floor, games (ie. shooting arcade) and stuffed animals on display throughout, and fish. It was quite the place...

(Ugly...I know)

Never been to a store like it. Was quite something. The restaurant even offered wild dishes ie. my hubby had an elk sandwich; I had buffalo chili. Although mine was pretty good, my husband said he probably wouldn't get his again. :)

This being Remembrance Day, I thought I would close with a picture of my husband taken quite a long time ago. He served in the United States Air Force as a Security Specialist at the Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma from 1983 to 1987...

It'll be odd not to be with him 24/7 when he heads out again in a few days. Wonder if he'll miss me? I know what he won't miss...me taking over his iPhone, half the truck and half the bed...actually, more than half! :)

Till tomorrow's post...

A little lady bug graced our presence in the truck today. Cute...

I don't mind lady bugs paying us a visit, but I didn't care too much for the cricket we had. One night, I was sitting on the edge of the bed and felt something brush against my leg. Dog was in the bed, so I knew it wasn't him! Minutes later...Jiminy Cricket!!! There be a cricket on our pillow! Actually, I'm not entirely certain it was a cricket. Thought they were smaller than this thing was. Looked more like a black grasshopper to me. Is there such a thing? Anyway, freaked me out!! Still wonder how it got in here. Be gone black creature of the night!

We are in Taylor, Michigan. We'll be picking up our rental car in the morning and heading home to Sudbury...an 8-9 hour drive. It's a lot cooler up here than what it was this morning down in Missouri. Time to break out the long pants, socks and runners!

Dwayne will be heading back down here on Friday to re-unite with the red beast. As for me, I've decided to stay home until after Christmas. I want to be home to enjoy the season with friends and family.

It's been an enjoyable 6 weeks. Next time I head out, it'll be for much longer. We did file the initial paperwork with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service and they've assigned us a case number. The ball is rolling for getting me into the States. Now we wait to hear further from them as to what they want from us next.

I'll make a few more posts before signing off till the new year. I have some pics I want to post from an outdoor sports outfitter store we visited a few weeks ago, but I need a better connection to do it.

For tonight, here's a pic of a little chapel we passed in southeastern Oklahoma called 'The Roadside Church', and a unique former gas station, now a Chamber of Commerce...

You never know what you'll find around each corner!

The U.S. flags are hanging at half staff in memory of the 13 soldiers killed last week at Fort Hood, TX...

As I slept early this morning, Dwayne watched the sun come up while driving through some heavy fog...

We're currently parked in Sullivan, Missouri for the night. We'll arrive in Taylor, Michigan tomorrow evening. This load delivers at 4:30 friggin' A.M. on Wednesday (too bloody early!). After that, as soon as the car rental place opens, we'll be heading home. I'm soooo looking forward to spaghetti dinner at mom's. Mmmmm...mouth's watering just thinking about it! (I love pasta). In the past 6 weeks, I've only had pasta once...and it sucked!!! The meatballs weren't even worthy of eating, but at least Keylock enjoyed them. :)

Since I have an excellent signal this evening at this Flying J truck stop (which is rare), I'm able to upload pictures easily. As a result, I leave you with the sites from our beautiful drive yesterday. We start out leaving El Paso, Texas, then move on into New Mexico, and eventually end up back in Texas. No running commentary from me (lol)...just enjoy...

Bet you wish you'd been along for that ride, huh?

I think New Mexico may very well be my favourite State so far, from a scenic point of view.
