Estoy tan feliz!! Means I'm so happy!! I have my very own ristra!
My husband may not buy me flowers...like EVER...but he surprises me with other little things. He knew I wanted to get a picture of the hanging ristras. When we came upon a little store today in New Mexico, he pulled that 18 wheeler over to the side of the road so that I could not only take pictures, but also pick one out for myself. :) Here's some store shots...
And here's mine...now decorating the inside of our bunk...
I love them!! And for those of you curious as to the cost, it was $16.00. Was quite an interesting little store. We also picked up a jar of Salsa, which we enjoyed this evening with a bag of tortilla chip scoopers. Dwayne had his with a giant sized beer! I couldn't get over the size of the can (24 oz)...
Dwayne also got a little bag of local pistachios at that shop...they were amazing! Wish we had gotten more...
He too was aware that I wanted to snap a picture of this stagecoach we passed the other day, at a closed down antique shop, so he pulled over for that as well; this also in New Mexico...
While stopped, we walked past "Elida's Beauty Shop"...Elida being the name of the town. I was intrigued by the painting on the door...
And just had to snap a shot of this flyer posted in one of the windows...
Dwayne stopped for this one...he loves trains and this old switcher locomotive definitely caught his attention. He refers to it as a "critter". This one rests in the small town of Hereford...which town sure had a nasty smell looming in the air (PU!!)
Last shot for tonight is this F-111 fighter bomber, on display in downtown Portales, New Mexico...you know, the town with 12,000 friendly people and 3 or 4 old grouches... :)
Today was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL drive! I took a lot of scenic pics, which I'll post another time. Right now, I must retire for the night. Dwayne has to get up at 4 a.m. I can tell you right now that I won't be!! I'll be staying in the bunk, bouncing around...kinda like a massage really. :) We're delivering a load of flat screen TVs to Taylor, Michigan, where another trucker will bring it into Canada. We'll be renting a car to head on home to Sudbury for time off.
I think I'll bring my ristra home and hang it instead of mistletoe. :)
