Straight ahead. We did a lot of that kind of driving today.
After waiting 5 hours this morning for Sears to unload the trailer by hand, we got word to head west to El Paso. Would be a 9 hour drive. Makes for a long day, especially when the driving is straight and the scenery is a lot of those big electricity producing windmills and oil pumps. Saw hundreds of those today.
But after 5 hours, we entered a hilly/mountainous area known as the Davis Mountains and we enjoyed the sun setting behind them. We watched as the hues of orange, yellow, green and purple slowly disappeared against the silouetted mountains. I know I missed a lot of pretty scenery once darkness fell, but the brightness of the stars out here made up for it. I look forward to seeing the area in the daylight one day.
The camera on this iPhone wouldn't capture the sunset. Instead I'm posting a few pics taken a bit earlier at a picnic area where we stopped briefly to let Keylock (Dwayne's dog) out.
El Paso is our home for the night. Wonder where we'll be heading tomorrow?
