Take a journey to our property in Southeast Oklahoma near Antlers...

We start out on a nicely paved highway...

We turn onto a rural paved road...

Which eventually leads to a dirt road...

Which gradually degrades to a remote, narrow dirt road with little streams, rocks, potholes, etc. to dodge...but you can still get there by car...

The area is known as the Kiamichi Wilderness...

And this is our peacefully beautiful property...5 acres of it...

I love this pic...

If you look re-e-e-ally closely, you will see Dwayne standing where we intend to build the cabin (look for the blue). This pic is taken from the road...

Dwayne walking the road alongside our property...Keylock's there up front...

We have a lot of pine trees on the property. It was nice just to quietly stand there and listen to the wind whispering through the pines, with the birds and crickets chirping. If I close my eyes, I can still hear it...

Dwayne already starting to do some work...we have this one wet spot...

We noticed that we have new neighbours since we last visited...someone to borrow a cup of sugar from...or as my daughter said, some squirrel meat...a little too remote for her (lol)...

Our only cacti...

A wet year...

We have little pumpkin mushrooms growing, just in time for Halloween! (the orange doesn't show up too well in this picture)...

Pretty purple berries...

And, finally, we drove around and came upon this cabin, which is somewhat similar to what Dwayne intends to build, except that we want the porch to wrap around the whole house...

Thanks for coming along. We look forward to the day that our dream becomes a reality and we can sit out on our front porch in our rocking chairs, sipping tea/coffee, listening to the sounds of nature and keeping a look out for the deer crossing our land. It is the deer capital of the world you know. :)
