Fearful or Fearless?
I ventured out on my own this past Friday evening to visit a store called Mardel. There are several locations so I asked hubby to print off directions to, not necessarily the closest, but the most accessible location. (Let's just say I'm somewhat directionally challenged). Up to that point, hubby had been the driver whenever we needed to go somewhere. This time I would be on my own. With directions in hand, off I went.
I was not prepared for the ridiculous set up they have here for merging and exiting. As I was taking my exit off the 65 miles per hour highway, there suddenly appeared out of nowhere a driver on my right who seemingly wanted to merge! What?! With one driver wanting to go right (me) and the other driver wanting to go left, and only seconds to accomplish it, this posed a slight problem!! We managed to somehow criss cross around each other without causing an accident. Craziness! And just because you're now on the service roads doesn't mean you're safe....look out for those people exiting off the highway. Service road drivers have to watch for yield signs...meaning yield to the traffic zooming off the highway. It's nuts!! Hubby tells me I'll get used to it. I don't know about that. I'm just a small town girl.
Here's a google map of the spot where I was exiting and met up with the merger.
You see my exit near where the blue arrow is. Merger dude was coming onto the Expressway from the road just before that. The laneway in between is where you must decide whether to be fearful or fearless!
