Wisps of purple.
On the move down here, wisps of purple began to catch my eye when we reached southern Missouri. They continued on for the rest of our journey into Oklahoma.
Winter in these southern parts is simply described by me as bare trees with no snow on the ground. With spring's arrival, the redbud trees are the first to offer a delicate splash of colour against the dull grey landscape. Very pretty.
Once in Oklahoma City, we took a drive and got out of the car to snap a couple of closer shots. I quickly discovered that the cold air down here is different from the cold back home...it's a damp, bone chilling cold. Brrrrr. Me, who is rarely ever cold, had to jump back into the car and crank up the heat. Hubby thought it was quite funny.
I keep waiting for the spring rains. Apparently they are late in arriving this year. With rain comes thunder storms and I love their thunder storms here!!
