What a show!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Oh how I love the clouds here in Oklahoma! Today I saw one of the most awesome skies I've ever seen! It started out late this afternoon with some big puffy clouds...

Which after awhile started to flatten out at the top taking on that flying saucer appearance I mentioned in a previous blog. (I say flying saucer, hubby says mushroom)...

Then after grabbing a quick bite to eat around 7 p.m., we started to head home. Hubby pointed out an oddity in the sky that even he'd never seen before. Looked like, as he said, blisters. I said it reminded me of the blobs in a lava lamp... :)
The blobs protruding down like that made me ponder whether this might be a similar sight to that seen by Chicken Little when he screamed, "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!" (lol)

As we approached the downtown core of Oklahoma City, the setting sun was casting a bright reflection off the buildings...

(Note the red vehicle)
As we got closer to home, the sky intensified...

Outdoors took on an uncanny colour that I can't describe (and which of course couldn't be caught by our camera). It was as though I was wearing sunglasses, only I wasn't.

We pulled over a few blocks from home to get out and take in all the beauty...

Kinda reminded me of the Northern Lights back home...

While taking the above pictures, it seems we're standing under one of those flying saucer/mushroom clouds...

Turn around 180 degrees from the light show and there are blue skies...

A Good Friday I shall never forget!

P.S. If you're a Facebook friend of mine, check out the short video I posted there.
