It's 2 a.m.
and my computer is giving me issues. Argh! Will blog after I've slept.

Red.
Ah red, my favourite colour, the colour of love. (Or as my hubby will point out, it's also the colour of blood. He's always trying to get a rise out of me.) It's also the colour of the dirt around here. Adds so much scenic intensity.





Since arriving, I've noticed an inordinate amount of red vehicles around. Obviously a popular choice for vehicle purchasers. Wonder if being surrounded by red dirt plays on the subconscious?

Red of course is also the colour of hatred/anger. And there are some mean little critters in these parts. Fire ants are red...although they are found more in the southern part of Oklahoma, thankfully. Got bit on the toe once by one of those teeny tiny suckers. Yeowzers!! Don't care to experience THAT ever again.

There is also a species of red wasps around here. I believe they're called paper wasps. Seems we have a few of them scouting around for a nest just outside our door. Freaked me out the first time I saw one. We were sitting outside when one of these demons made their appearance. They are huge compared to wasps back home and when they fly, they hover with their legs dangling. Very freaky. Found a slow motion YouTube video if you care to have a look see.
