WELCOME BACK TO B's BLOG!
It's been over a year since my last post. Took that long for my immigration paperwork to be processed. A lot has happened since then. In particular, our plans for me to continue riding around in the Red Beast with hubby to see the country and start building our little cabin in the woods have changed. Hubby unexpectedly lost his trucking job this past fall, and with that, our whole world changed. So, for now, this blog will be about my new life in Oklahoma rather than my ventures out on the road. Here we go....
Moving Day!!
Made our way to the Sault border crossing on March 26th for immigrant visa processing. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it went amazingly well...thankfully. We had two customs agents taking care of us; one was a down to earth kinda guy with a sense of humour, and the other, well, he had the most amazing blue eyes! Now I'm not a gal who pays any attention to guys' looks, so I surprised even myself for noticing. A nice Welcome to America!
The rest of the trip was uneventful, except for the appearance of Vampire Cat. Getting ready to check out of our hotel room, my cat decided to hide under the bed. She just wasn't coming out, so I got hubby to flick some water at her. This is when Vampire Cat made her appearance. Holy hissing fangs! We sat on the bed briefly, wondering how long it would be before she'd settle down and come out. Hubby figured it could take hours, so he proceeded to lift the mattress up and lean it against the wall where we found a little arched growling puff ball, armed with razor sharp claws! Yikes! Managed to chase her into the bathroom. By this time we'd apparently scared the shit right out of her....literally!! Good place for that to happen...next to the commode (lol). I closed the door and managed to calm her down enough to grab her with a towel and carry her off to the UHaul. Phew! (poor kitty)
The rest of the trip Zeeta travelled well. I'll finish off today's blog with a few pics of her in the UHaul. I think I'll buy her a little black cape for Halloween. :)
