Clouds

I so love the clouds here in Oklahoma. I've been waiting for the large ones to make their appearance, and they did so yesterday afternoon.

(Note the red vehicle....my blog followers will get it.)

The pictures don't do them justice. What you see is a small portion of the wall of clouds that stretched out for miles before us. Would need a panoramic camera to capture it. Some formed so high that they began to dissipate for lack of atmosphere. When this happens, they tend to mushroom out at the top, taking on a flying saucer appearance.

We figured severe weather would be happening somewhere, so when we got home, hubby checked out NOAA's site (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). We noted tornado and severe weather warnings around us. We later discovered a tornado had touched down in Tushka, about 120 miles southeast of us.

I do hope to see a tornado at some point, from a distance of course. :)
